Over-The-Phone and Video Remote Interpreting

Over-the-phone interpretation (OPI) is a service that connects two parties speaking different languages through a three-way call. The interpreter acts as a bridge, facilitating the conversation between them. This interpreter may be located in the same office as the client or be situated remotely.

Remote Simultaneous Interpretation

Video remote interpreting (VRI) is a type of sign language interpretation that enables deaf or hard-of-hearing individuals to communicate with hearing people at the same location through videoconferencing, rather than relying on in-person interpreters. This service is particularly beneficial in areas with a shortage of qualified interpreters, such as rural settings, or when immediate interpretation is required but no interpreter is present on-site.

Remote Simultaneous On-Site Interpretation

Remote simultaneous interpretation (RSI) represents an advanced form of simultaneous interpretation, allowing interpreters and participants to receive a live video and audio feed from anywhere in the world. With RSI, interpreters, speakers, and attendees can connect and engage in their own languages remotely. To participate in RSI, all that’s needed is a computer or mobile device, a headset, and an internet connection to access online events.

Pre-Scheduled Assignments

Any client can request a prescheduled interpretation session for languages marked as “preschedule recommended,” for extended sessions lasting over 1.5 hours, or for sessions with particular needs. Preparation is essential for interpreters, as it constitutes a significant portion of their work. Being a language expert doesn’t automatically mean one can discuss any topic using specialized terminology without prior knowledge. It’s important to recognize that what seems obvious to you as an expert in your field may be completely unfamiliar to others.
